J.D. Byrider Is Expanding in Youngstown

J.D. Byrider is Relocating its Boardman Used Car Lot

J.D. Byrider plans on moving its Boardman used car lot to the former Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge location next week, located in the Youngstown, Ohio area.  Rob Palmer is the franchisee of the Boardman J.D. Byrider location and is looking forward to the move providing three big advantages over their current used car lot:

  • More Cars on the Lot – The new property will allow the J.D. Byrider dealership to stock between 30 and 60 cars instead of 15 to 20.
  • Larger Service Operations – A large service facility is important to the Boardman J.D. Byrider dealership, because they offer a three-year, 36,000 mile warranty on every vehicle they sell.
  • Car Reconditioning – The new facility will recondition used cars for the Boardman location and Palmer’s other J.D. Byrider Dealerships.

The new J.D. Byrider used car lot will be located at 7871 Market Street, just north of its current Market Street location.  Palmer says the move will be completed when property renovations are finished and will house about 46 employees.

Palmer opened the Boardman dealership 12 years ago and then added a Niles location in 1999 and Hermitage, PA location in 2000. He opened three dealerships in the Pittsburgh area in the past three years.  Palmer was named J.D. Byrider’s franchisee of the year in 2008 for those with three or more locations.

J.D. Byrider headquarters is based in Carmel, Ind., and has about 130 locations nationwide.

Tony Stewart Wins at Legendary Eldora

Tony Stewart won his own dirt-track charity race in dominating fashion on Wednesday, September 9.  Stewart overtook Kenny Wallace on the 13th lap and never looked back to capture the Gillette Young Guns Prelude to a Dream for the second year in a row.

Joey Logano had some trouble with his #20 Home Depot car, so he jumped into the #14 J.D. Byrider car (as shown below) in which Stewart had won a feature earlier in the year at Paducah, Kentucky.

The race, which drew more than 23,000 fans to Eldora, was broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View® with proceeds from the telecast supporting four military-themed charities – Wounded Warrior Project, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Operation Homefront and Fisher House. Each has a mission that outlines assistance to the courageous men and women who serve their country and need additional support both during and after their time of service.

“All these drivers who took time out of their schedule to come to Eldora – not once, but twice – I just can’t thank them enough for what they’ve done,” said Stewart, owner of Eldora Speedway.  “That’s what this race is about. We all get to have fun and drive dirt cars, but it’s a lot deeper and bigger cause than that.”

J.D. Byrider, who celebrates 20 years in the used car business this year, has been a sponsor of Tony Stewart Racing for 12 years. Byrider has also been involved with Tony Stewart’s World of Outlaws Sprint cars since 2001.

J.D. Byrider Sponsors Tony Stewart in Super Late Model Race

Oregon, Wisconsin – The action was fast and furious at the Swiss Colony All Star Challenge at Madison International Speedway on June 30 as NASCAR champs Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart battled for top 5 finishes. Kenseth, who started from the pole then dropped to second, battled back to take the lead on lap 5. He continued to lead until lap 89, when he was passed by eventual race winner, Scott Wimmer.

“This is just amazing, just to get the chance to race with Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart and to pass Kenseth for the win is just a neat deal, “a smiling Wimmer stated in Victory Lane.

Kenseth finished in the runner-up spot for the third time in the four All-Star Challenge events at MIS. “We just got beat”, Kenseth stated after the race. “We were too loose in the first half and we were too tight in the middle tonight and could never get it quite right. We were just holding up for a long time and he was just patient and did a good job. He picked his spot and got me there.”

Tony Stewart, current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader was competing in his fourth All-Star Challenge. He came home with a fifth place finish in his #14 Chevrolet sponsored by J.D. Byrider. This was his best finish so far. He was a late arrival to the track and had limited practice time, but he was able to prove a theory, “That just proves my theory that the longer I am here during the day and the more practice I get, the more I screw this car up,” Stewart said with a smile on his face. “Joe Wood and Jason Schuler and their crew at Pathfinder Chassis, every year they give me a great race car and I didn’t just screw it up this year. So I got here and ran 12 laps and got in the show.” Stewart qualified ninth out of 37 cars.”

J. D. Byrider is the nation’s largest used car franchise company, with 127 locations in 30 states. This year, Byrider is celebrating its 20th Anniversary and is proud of having sold over 800,000 vehicles to good, hard-working people. Tony Stewart Racing’s Kraig Kinser Continues Hunting for World of Outlaws Victories in J.D. Byrider Maxim

When you circle dirt tracks on a nightly basis, you are bound to get a little dirty. World of Outlaws (WoO) star Kraig Kinser has had his fair share of mud slung his way since getting behind the wheel of a Sprint car as a teenager. The slinging continues this week with three nights of action, including stops at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa, Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wis., and Cedar Lake Speedway in Somerset, Wis. As he continues to chase his first World of Outlaws win of the 2009 campaign.

Kinser returns to action behind the wheel of TSR’s No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/Chevy/J.D. Byrider Maxim Wednesday night at 34 Raceway. The 24-year-old driver aims to build on a solid ending to June, which included three consecutive top-four finishes and five top-nine runs in his last six starts.

On Saturday night, Kinser will return to Charter Raceway Park in central Wisconsin. The program will be his sixth night racing at the high-banked 1/3-mile dirt oval. The week concludes with the Outlaws’ annual July stop in northwest Wisconsin at Cedar Lake Speedway. Kinser has made four previous trips to the 3/8-mile facility. He scored his best career finish the first night he raced there in July 2003.

After the first 33 WoO races of 2009, Kinser has eight top-five finishes and 16 top-10s. He currently ranks ninth in the WoO Sprint Series Championship standings with 4,222 points.

Race fans unable to attend this weekend’s races can catch all of the action on DIRTVision.com, including updated results from each night of racing, as well as a chat room to interact with other race fans.

J.D. Byrider Albuquerque Sponsors 2009 Special Olympics Summer Games

Always looking for ways to help the community, J.D. Byrider sponsored and served as the official timer for all running events at the 2009 Special Olympics New Mexico State Summer Games.  At this year’s Games, approximately 1,000 athletes participated in cycling, track & field, bocce, gymnastics, and volleyball, which is a reason to celebrate.

Mike Sandoval, J.D. Byrider General Manager, supports this organization throughout the year, and has done so for the past 17 years.

J.D. Byrider Execs Work With Heart

The American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate in Indianapolis, IN has named Jim England as Chairman of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Start! Heart Walk. England is president of the J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc., the marketing and communications company for J.D. Byrider dealers across the country.

“This is a great honor for me”, England said. “I joined this company ten years ago because I had such admiration for the spirit of the people. There’s a lot of heart in the organization and now’s a great time to be involved with helping the American Heart Association.”

J.D. Byrider is involved with the Start! Heart Walk specifically because it’s an event in which most people can participate,” England continued. “Simply lace up a pair of shoes and start walking.”

“It provides us with an opportunity to send an educational message to our customers,” says Jim Devoe, Jr., Byrider CEO. “Heart health is important and our customers need to know about healthy diet and exercise choices.”

According to England, “the AHA provides statistics that support walking as a great form of exercise. Most of our customers have kids, and those kids need healthy parents around.”

DeVoe and England signed up to be “Sole Mates” at the kickoff of the 2009 National Start! Heart Walk event earlier in the year at New York City’s Grand Central Station. “Jim DeVoe, Sr. is the guy who initiated our involvement with AHA and I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to keep that commitment alive within our organization”, England said.

Interests in Used Cars Still Growing

The good news for the auto makers is that many consumers are starting to consider purchasing new vehicles. But, the used car market continues to generate the most interest. Consumers are gravitating to certified pre-owned vehicles because of price and peace of mind. Online searching for used vehicles is continuing to increase. And the traffic drawn to dealership lots continues to be mostly about used cars.

Consumers with better credit are drawn to the BMW 3-Series, the Ford F-150, the Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Silverado and the Honda Accord. And, the most popular certified pre-owned vehicles ranked include BMW 3-Series, Accord, Silverado, Chevy Tahoe and Toyota Tundra.

Consumers with not-so-good credit who are in the market for a good used vehicle and help getting financing should consider dealers who provide the best of both programs. J.D. Byrider is celebrating its 20th year in business, having sold and financed over 800,000 vehicles to good, hard-working people.

With 20 year’s experience, J.D. Byrider knows what used vehicles to purchase to best serve its customers. Every vehicle undergoes a Comprehensive Inspection, comes backed by a title check from Carfax or Experian and a Good to Go Limited Warranty at no extra charge. And, Byrider (link) offers low cost parts and labor in its quality service departments that are staffed by skilled technicians.

As consumers begin purchasing new vehicles, the picture brightens for both the new and used car markets. Manufacturers make more, dealers sell more and more vehicles will be available down the road to fulfill the needs of the used car markets in the future. Incidentally, the top 3 selling new vehicles in May came from U.S. manufacturers Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge, respectively. Another good sign.

Visit J.D. Byrider to locate a dealership near you.
