On Friday night, Donny Schatz will add a new track to his registry at Junction Motor Speedway in McCool Junction, Nebraska. Steve Kinser is also set to race in his second appearance at Junction Motor Speedway. The weekend of action continues on Saturday night with an event at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas. Kinser has won 27 World of Outlaw races in the state of Nebraska and has been consistently strong at Lakeside during his career. Similarly, Schatz is no stranger to victory in Nebraska or Kansas, having won WoO A-Features in both states.

Steve Kinser commented on his upcoming race in Kansas: “I’m looking forward to going back to Lakeside. We’ve run a lot of races in that part of the country over the years. We’ve been pretty decent there at Lakeside and, hopefully, that will continue this weekend.”

Schatz also referenced his upcoming races in a recent interview: “Going someplace new is where you have to rely on teamwork. No one has a stack of notes about the place, so you kind of just guess where to start. From there, it’s about working together to figure out what is going to work best. I’ve heard a lot of good things about McCool Junction, and it’ll be nice to get back to Lakeside. It’s been awhile since we’ve been there, and I know the last time we were there, I ran third. I’d like to get a couple spots higher on the podium this time.”

On Wednesday night, the Outlaws will stop in central Missouri for round three of the Showdown for the Bud Crown at State Fair Speedway in Sedalia. Then in a weekend double header, they will compete again at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  Both Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz are eager to return to these tracks, each having prior success at the venues. Kinser has recorded five wins at State Fair Speedway, while Schatz is a three-time winner at River Cities Speedway.

When asked about racing at State Fair Speedway, Steve Kinser said, “We’ve raced at Sedalia a number of times. We know it’s a big, fast half-mile. Sometimes it gets hard on tires. Sometimes you have to hug the bottom and other times you have to rip the top. Experience plays a big role in keeping up with the changes throughout the night.”

Donny Schatz commented on his experience racing at Grand Folks, “We’ve been pretty decent at Grand Folks the past couple of years. The breaks have kind of worked in our favor. It’s always special winning races, and we’d like nothing more than to win another one there in front of our fans. Results are what matter and maybe a couple of good nights in North Dakota will get us headed in the direction.”

The 6th annual Prelude to the Dream event will be held at Eldora Speedway on Wednesday, June 9th (7pm ET/ 4pm PDT) and will be televised live on HBO Pay-Per-View. This event highlights modern-day superstars returning to the roots of car racing by competing on a dirt track in a dirt Late Model stock car. Attending fans are able to see both the origins of the sport and racing’s biggest names performing beyond their routine element. The competing drivers do not race for points and trophies, but for charity, as the 2010 pay-per-view proceeds will benefit four children’s hospitals: Cincinnati Children’s, Levine Children’s Hospital, Riley Hospital for Children and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Outlaws, led by the Tony Stewart Racing combo Steve Kinser and Donny Schatz, return to Knoxville for three nights of racing beginning Thursday with the Mediacom Shootout, continuing Friday with the Hall of Fame Classic, and then concluding Saturday with the Mediacom Shootout finale.

Kinser, driver of the Bass Pro Shops/ JD Byrider Maxim, will be looking to win his first race at Knoxville since April 2005, while Schatz hopes to win the Outlaws’ opening feature at Knoxville for the fourth straight season.  Knoxville has been a personal stomping ground for Steve Kinser throughout his career, winning 52 times in WoO competition and ranking third all-time at the track with 58 total wins. The staggering numbers Kinser has posted at Knoxville won’t be matched anytime soon, but the one driver who has put up “Kinseresque” results at the track recently has been Schatz.

In a recent interview with True Speed Communications, Donny Schatz said, “Knoxville fits our program. It’s a big track where speed is important. The track also usually slicks off in the middle and has multiple grooves to race on. You need to be able to have a car that works in several places- high, low, and through the middle. We’ve been fortunate to win some races there in the past and now our goal is to win the next one. We’re looking forward to trying to continue to winning races at Knoxville.”

The Special Olympics New Mexico State Summer Games created an opportunity for more athletes, coaches, and volunteers to experience the joy of sport and the celebration it brings.  J.D. Byrider understands that through successful experiences in sports, Special Olympics New Mexico athletes are given opportunities to feel good about who they are, which carries over into the classroom, the home, the job and the community.

 In an effort to come together and celebrate the bravery of individual effort and the common ground of the human spirit, members of the J.D. Byrider Albuquerque, New Mexico staff participated in the timing of all track events. In the relationships formed with the athletes and in the examples they set, our volunteers benefited from a new way of thinking and feeling. Overall, the Special Olympics New Mexico was a successful event filled with joy, bravery, friendship, and spirit.
