Alice Cyrus Walking Again in the ALS Walk 2010

Alice Cyrus, an Asst. Financial Manager for CNAC at the Madison, Indiana JD Byrider dealership will once again be walking in the ALS Walk 2010 on May 8th. She is hoping to raise funds for the fight against ALS (Lou Gehrig ’s disease). Alice’s sister, Dana Smith, has been battling ALS for 2 years. She was diagnosed at age 54 while she was still a very active and healthy person, going to the gym every morning at 5:30am. However, this disease has slowly robbed her body of the ability to walk, speak, swallow and breathe. Every 90 minutes a person in this country is diagnosed with ALS and every 90 minutes another person will lose their battle against the disease. Help Alice raise funds to find a cure for this deadly disease.  All donations can be made online directly at the ALS website (ALS Walk 2010- Donate to Alice Cyrus).

Tony Stewart Racing: Las Vegas Super Sprint Classic Race Report

Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) continued to show strength early in the 2010 World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Series season by earning two spots on the podium Friday night in the Second Annual Las Vegas Super Sprint Classic at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Steve Kinser, driver of the TSR No. 11 Bass Pro Shops/J.D. Byrider/Maxim, couldn’t hold off Jason Meyers in the final corner of the 30-lap A-Feature, however, he finished a mere 0.237 seconds behind Meyers to earn his third top-three finish of the 2010 season.

Donny Schatz, driver of the TSR No. 15 Armor All/STP/ParkerStore/J&J, led 26 of the first 27 laps in the main event. After beginning the evening by qualifying fifth in the field of 28 cars, he dominated the six-lap Dash to earn his first pole of 2010. The reigning WoO champion dominated the early portion of the race and stayed in contention through the final corner when the top three headed to the checkers, all with a chance to win.

The TSR teammates continue to rank first and second in the WoO championship standings following the event. Kinser returned to the top position with his runner-up finish and holds a two-point advantage over Schatz. Next up for TSR is its first trip to California for the two-night event at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif., on March 5-6.
