J.D. Byrider Offers Fans the Chance to Win Tony Stewart Racing Tickets

J.D. Byrider is pleased to announce Tony Stewart fans will have the opportunity to win tickets to see Tony Stewart compete live at Paducah International Raceway’s NASCAR Night II in Paducah, KY on Thursday, June 30th.

On Wednesday, July 29, at the J.D. Byrider dealership in Owensboro, KY. From 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., fans can view the #14 J.D. Byrider Chevy Monte Carlo dirt late model that Stewart will drive Thursday night at Paducah International Raceway. They can win tickets to that race. And, they can meet driver, Steve Barnett, who pilots the #89 J.D. Byrider Chevy Monte Carlo dirt late model for J. D. Byrider Racing. During his career, Barnett has captured nearly 226 features, 15 career track championships and is a six-time Northern All Stars Champion!

Tony Stewart has been a part of the J.D. Byrider team since 1997, when J.D. Byrider began sponsoring a stock dirt late model car, which Stewart drives a couple of times a year. Since the J.D. Byrider sponsorship began, the team has grown. In addition to Stewart as the late model dirt-track driver, the team includes Steve Barnett in a second late model dirt-track car and Kraig Kinser in a winged, open-wheel sprint car on the legendary World of Outlaws Circuit.

Thursday’s race at Paducah, billed as “NASCAR Night II” at PIR, will be the second time Stewart and Barnett have raced there this year. On April 23, Stewart won the 30-lap feature race.

“It was the perfect debut of our new car and colors”, said Jim England, president of the J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc. “We changed the number on our car from 20 to 14 this year, to coincide with Tony’s change to owner/driver status. And, Tony and Steve both have new firesuits this year, reflecting our relationship with TSR and Tony’s many other sponsors. I’m looking forward to seeing them race on the famed PIR track again.””

J.D. Byrider was founded in 1989 to serve customers looking for used cars with special auto financing needs and to ensure that they receive the same quality service in every J.D. Byrider dealership.

J.D. Byrider Night of Speed

J.D. Byrider was, again, the title sponsor of the J.D. Byrider Night of Speed during the Kroger Speed Fest. Thursday, July 23, saw O’Reilly Raceway Park in Clermont, Indiana, play host to two United States Auto Club (USAC) open-wheel events. Despite a little interference from the weather, over 10,000 fans were treated to a thrilling 30-lap USAC Midget Series feature followed by a 100-lap USAC Silver Crown Series feature. The Silver Crown race was won by Bobby Santos III. The Midget race was won by Bryan Clausen.

Earlier in the evening, Tony Stewart made an appearance at the J.D. Byrider hospitality tent. About 800 J.D. Byrider associates, franchisees and guests were treated to a special question and answer period, hosted by popular radio air personality, Dave “The King” Wilson. Tony signed autographs and met with enthusiastic fans. It was a very exciting evening!

Adding to the excitement of the evening was a special event involving the Tony Stewart Foundation (TSF), benefiting the Indiana Canine Assistance Network (ICAN). ICAN trains and places assistance dogs with Hoosier children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities, while also providing job and life skills to offenders in three Indiana prisons who train the dogs for service work. Back on April 14, Tony was able to meet 2 ICAN kids – Caleb & Sydney — and their dogs – Declan & Kiefer.

Since Tony has such a soft spot in his heart for kids and animals, TSF got involved. On June 14, a litter of 9 pups was born to Cleo, a golden retriever assistance dog. TSF launched a contest among Tony’s fans to name the puppies and make sure they found homes with kids who needed them.
Visitors to Smoke’s Pup Crew were able to watch the pups’ progress, submit names for consideration and make a donation to TSF.

The puppies were all in attendance, enabling the crowd to see and visit with them first-hand. Then it was time to reveal the winning names. As Tony carefully held each puppy, Dave “The King” Wilson revealed their names. Check out these photos!

J.D. Byrider would like to personally thank Tony Stewart, The Tony Stewart Foundation, ICAN, USAC and O’Reilly Raceway Park for their dedication to and hard work in bringing together such a fabulous evening for fans and friends alike. “It was a golden (no pun intended) opportunity for our associates, franchisees and friends to see the caring, compassionate side of Tony Stewart,” said Jim England, president of the J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc. “Everyone in the tent was practically on sensory overload. As if the thrill of being with good friends, meeting Tony and getting and autograph weren’t enough, we all got to meet the puppies and some of the kids who truly need assistance dogs. I’m so proud of Tony, and our relationship with him. And I want to thank everyone at Stewart Haas Racing, Tony Stewart Racing, the Tony Stewart Foundation and J.D. Byrider for making this evening possible.

J.D. Byrider Sponsors Tony Stewart in Super Late Model Race

Oregon, Wisconsin – The action was fast and furious at the Swiss Colony All Star Challenge at Madison International Speedway on June 30 as NASCAR champs Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart battled for top 5 finishes. Kenseth, who started from the pole then dropped to second, battled back to take the lead on lap 5. He continued to lead until lap 89, when he was passed by eventual race winner, Scott Wimmer.

“This is just amazing, just to get the chance to race with Matt Kenseth and Tony Stewart and to pass Kenseth for the win is just a neat deal, “a smiling Wimmer stated in Victory Lane.

Kenseth finished in the runner-up spot for the third time in the four All-Star Challenge events at MIS. “We just got beat”, Kenseth stated after the race. “We were too loose in the first half and we were too tight in the middle tonight and could never get it quite right. We were just holding up for a long time and he was just patient and did a good job. He picked his spot and got me there.”

Tony Stewart, current NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points leader was competing in his fourth All-Star Challenge. He came home with a fifth place finish in his #14 Chevrolet sponsored by J.D. Byrider. This was his best finish so far. He was a late arrival to the track and had limited practice time, but he was able to prove a theory, “That just proves my theory that the longer I am here during the day and the more practice I get, the more I screw this car up,” Stewart said with a smile on his face. “Joe Wood and Jason Schuler and their crew at Pathfinder Chassis, every year they give me a great race car and I didn’t just screw it up this year. So I got here and ran 12 laps and got in the show.” Stewart qualified ninth out of 37 cars.”

J. D. Byrider is the nation’s largest used car franchise company, with 127 locations in 30 states. Tony Stewart Racing’s Kraig Kinser Continues Hunting for World of Outlaws Victories in J.D. Byrider Maxim

When you circle dirt tracks on a nightly basis, you are bound to get a little dirty. World of Outlaws (WoO) star Kraig Kinser has had his fair share of mud slung his way since getting behind the wheel of a Sprint car as a teenager. The slinging continues this week with three nights of action, including stops at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa, Charter Raceway Park in Beaver Dam, Wis., and Cedar Lake Speedway in Somerset, Wis. As he continues to chase his first World of Outlaws win of the 2009 campaign.

Kinser returns to action behind the wheel of TSR’s No. 20 Bass Pro Shops/Chevy/J.D. Byrider Maxim Wednesday night at 34 Raceway. The 24-year-old driver aims to build on a solid ending to June, which included three consecutive top-four finishes and five top-nine runs in his last six starts.

On Saturday night, Kinser will return to Charter Raceway Park in central Wisconsin. The program will be his sixth night racing at the high-banked 1/3-mile dirt oval. The week concludes with the Outlaws’ annual July stop in northwest Wisconsin at Cedar Lake Speedway. Kinser has made four previous trips to the 3/8-mile facility. He scored his best career finish the first night he raced there in July 2003.

After the first 33 WoO races of 2009, Kinser has eight top-five finishes and 16 top-10s. He currently ranks ninth in the WoO Sprint Series Championship standings with 4,222 points.

Race fans unable to attend this weekend’s races can catch all of the action on DIRTVision.com, including updated results from each night of racing, as well as a chat room to interact with other race fans.
