J.D. Byrider Albuquerque Sponsors 2009 Special Olympics Summer Games

Always looking for ways to help the community, J.D. Byrider sponsored and served as the official timer for all running events at the 2009 Special Olympics New Mexico State Summer Games.  At this year’s Games, approximately 1,000 athletes participated in cycling, track & field, bocce, gymnastics, and volleyball, which is a reason to celebrate.

Mike Sandoval, J.D. Byrider General Manager, supports this organization throughout the year, and has done so for the past 17 years.

“When people get involved in Special Olympics, they leave with a greater sense of gratitude and a deeper sense of purpose.  They leave having become a part of a larger family who find reasons to celebrate in times of struggle.  And finally, people leave Special Olympics with a feeling deep in their soul that tells them that by sharing themselves with those less fortunate, they have made their corner of the world a better place,” said Sandoval.

J.D. Byrider Execs Work With Heart

The American Heart Association Midwest Affiliate in Indianapolis, IN has named Jim England as Chairman of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Start! Heart Walk. England is president of the J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc., the marketing and communications company for J.D. Byrider dealers across the country.

“This is a great honor for me”, England said. “I joined this company ten years ago because I had such admiration for the spirit of the people. There’s a lot of heart in the organization and now’s a great time to be involved with helping the American Heart Association.”

J.D. Byrider is involved with the Start! Heart Walk specifically because it’s an event in which most people can participate,” England continued. “Simply lace up a pair of shoes and start walking.”

“It provides us with an opportunity to send an educational message to our customers,” says Jim Devoe, Jr., Byrider CEO. “Heart health is important and our customers need to know about healthy diet and exercise choices.”

According to England, “the AHA provides statistics that support walking as a great form of exercise. Most of our customers have kids, and those kids need healthy parents around.”

DeVoe and England signed up to be “Sole Mates” at the kickoff of the 2009 National Start! Heart Walk event earlier in the year at New York City’s Grand Central Station. “Jim DeVoe, Sr. is the guy who initiated our involvement with AHA and I’m thrilled that I’ve been able to keep that commitment alive within our organization”, England said.

Interests in Used Cars Still Growing

The good news for the auto makers is that many consumers are starting to consider purchasing new vehicles. But, the used car market continues to generate the most interest. Consumers are gravitating to certified pre-owned vehicles because of price and peace of mind. Online searching for used vehicles is continuing to increase. And the traffic drawn to dealership lots continues to be mostly about used cars.

Consumers with better credit are drawn to the BMW 3-Series, the Ford F-150, the Ford Mustang, the Chevrolet Silverado and the Honda Accord. And, the most popular certified pre-owned vehicles ranked include BMW 3-Series, Accord, Silverado, Chevy Tahoe and Toyota Tundra.

Consumers with not-so-good credit who are in the market for a good used vehicle and help getting financing should consider dealers who provide the best of both programs. J.D. Byrider is celebrating its 20th year in business, having sold and financed over 800,000 vehicles to good, hard-working people.

With 20 year’s experience, J.D. Byrider knows what used vehicles to purchase to best serve its customers. Every vehicle undergoes a Comprehensive Inspection, comes backed by a title check from Carfax or Experian and a Good to Go Limited Warranty at no extra charge. And, Byrider (link) offers low cost parts and labor in its quality service departments that are staffed by skilled technicians.

As consumers begin purchasing new vehicles, the picture brightens for both the new and used car markets. Manufacturers make more, dealers sell more and more vehicles will be available down the road to fulfill the needs of the used car markets in the future. Incidentally, the top 3 selling new vehicles in May came from U.S. manufacturers Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge, respectively. Another good sign.

J.D. Byrider Designated as a Fit Friendly Company by American Heart Association

J.D. Byrider was recently designated as a Fit Friendly Company by the American Heart Association for encouraging its employees to walk at work, participate in the Start! Heart Walk, providing a fitness center, encouraging smoking cessation and offering healthier vending machine choices.

Through its relationship with The American Heart Association, J.D. Byrider recommends that consumers take time to put their hearts first. Studies show that for every 30 minutes of vigorous exercise (including walking), one can add two hours of life expectancy.

“Healthier people will make better, more helpful associates here at Byrider”, said Jim England, president of the J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc. “That creates a friendlier environment for our customers. And, we’re taking that health message to our customers in the hope that better health will help them improve their lives and advance.”

Americans can get healthy benefits from walking without having to invest in club memberships or exercise equipment for their homes. Healthier people make better, more helpful, more productive employees.

At a time when the average employee works 164 more hours per year than they did twenty years ago, walking at work can provide the benefits of better health and stress relief. More people are employed in sedentary jobs these days. And, they have more to do outside the workplace that prevents them from getting enough exercise.

Walk breaks at work – before, during or after the work day begins – not only benefit employees but can also save employers money in health care costs.
