On the road to better credit with JD Byrider

No matter how the economy is doing, having good credit is important. A good credit rating can save you tens of thousands of dollars when making a major purchase like a home. It can save hundreds of dollars over the term of a loan when you buy items like major appliances or furniture.

It can even affect your ability to get a job: Some employers check applicants’ credit history, using the information to make decisions on whether or not applicants can be trusted with expensive equipment or if the salary for the position is sufficient to cover the applicant’s debt obligations. Credit is important.

J.D. Byrider is the place if you’re in the market for a good used car and you need poor credit auto financing. We’ve helped many customers stabilize their financial situations, reporting their excellent payment history to the major credit bureaus. Contact us today if you need help getting back on the road.

A Trip to Tampa For Tony Stewart

Thursday, October 2, Tony Stewart made an appearance in the Tampa Bay area to benefit the two J.D. Byrider dealerships, located on Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa and Park Avenue in Pinellas Park. The appearance was at the Park Avenue dealership where tony signed autographs for over 700 fans, as well as employees from both J.D. Byrider locations. “We hope this appearance played a part in Tony’s win at Talladega the following Sunday”, said Brent Newman, president of J.D. Byrider company stores. “It seems that, more often than not, whenever Tony’s with us on Thursday night and races the following Sunday, he wins. Maybe he should hang out at a Byrider every Thursday…”

Greg Martinez, Sales Manger from the Hillsborough Avenue dealership said, “This is amazing! I knew NASCAR was big, but it’s really great to see this many people turn out to support the guy that we support.”

After the event Tony Stewart stated, “I always love seeing the fans turn out for events like this. These are real people. And, I always appreciate the job that J.D. Byrider does on these events. They take care of their customers.”

Did you attend the event in Tampa last week?  Post a comment, and tell us about your experience meeting Tony Stewart.

Credit Crunch hits used car buyers

Wall Street’s historically bad performance has brought front-page attention to the current credit crisis. If you follow the news, you know it’s tougher to get credit now than it was even a few months ago. The credit crunch has hit business owners too, making it more difficult to get needed capital to purchase equipment and expand facilities.

But what about used car loans for people with bad credit? It’s not getting as much press, but auto dealers are finding it tougher to put customers behind the wheel of both new and used cars. That’s because lenders have tightened credit standards across the board. In fact, even customers with relatively good credit are finding it more difficult to get auto financing. It’s even more difficult to get a used car loan.

“Buy Here, Pay Here”

“Buy here, pay here” financing is still an option for many customers who are finding difficulty obtaining a traditional used car loan. However, potential customers should look for companies that not only offer “buy here, pay here” terms but stand behind the cars they sell.

If you’re in the market for a used car loan and are focusing on “buy here, pay here” auto financing options, take a close look at J.D. Byrider. We specialize in good cars for people who need credit. Unlike many banks, we’re still in the business of providing credit to deserving customers, helping people get the cars they need.

Winterize your car

Fall is in the air, and football season is in full swing. Halloween is right around the corner. That means it’s time to think about getting your vehicle ready for the winter. Whether you live in California or Massachusetts, Georgia or Indiana, it’s a good idea to winterize your car. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

  • Check your wiper blades. Cold weather can be tough on windshield wipers. Freezing temperatures can cause the rubber wiper blades to crack and become less effective. Change your wiper blades if necessary, and make sure you have plenty of windshield fluid.
  • Take a look at your tires. Depending on where you live, you may face more challenging road conditions during the winter, including snow and frozen rain. You’ll want to make sure your tires grip the road, so check for wear on the tire treads. In some climates, you may want to consider snow tires.
  • Monitor antifreeze levels. It’s important to have the appropriate levels of antifreeze to protect your radiator. You can ask your auto service technician to check your antifreeze levels. Or you can purchase a tester at an auto parts store and check it yourself.
  • Make sure you have the right oil. Some auto manufacturers recommend using a lower viscosity oil in very cold climates. Check your auto owner’s manual or ask your service technician if this applies to your car.
  • Carry a cold weather kit. If it snows where you live, it’s important to make sure you carry an ice scraper in your car. A snow brush is also a good idea. Some savvy winter drivers also carry emergency supplies such as extra gloves, a heavy coat or blanket and sand or gravel to gain traction on icy roads.

No matter where you live, it’s important to get your car ready for the upcoming winter. These tips can help you get started.
